The Chelsea Public Library is a small library in a small but growing city in Chelsea, Alabama. We opened our doors February of 2000 in the upstairs boardroom of a bank on Hwy. 280. 4 years later we moved to our current location in the new City Hall, still small but bigger.

Our programming currently consist of: a toddler reading time-the Tot Spot- Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., the summer reading program, and a book club that meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11:oo am. We have 4 computers available for public use, a black and white laser printer and a color laser printer and WI-FI.

When we opened our doors we were a branch of the Harrison Regional Library. 9 years later we orgnanized as a Municipal Library. This was a huge step for our library!

I am excited at what the future holds for the Chelsea Public Library.
